Phoenix Commercial Photography: Triumph Motorcycles
Images produced and shot by our team member and commercial photographer, Travis Neely.
A few words from Travis about the photo shoot:
I had just relocated out West to Arizona from the urban Northeast and was absolutely itching to take advantage of our world class landscapes… it is, after all, why we made the move. I spent the first month heavily scouting locations all around the state and imagining the work I could produce in each one. Tucson’s Catalina Highway winding it’s way up to the 10,000 foot summit of Mt Lemmon grabbed my attention as the perfect place for a motorsports inspired shoot.
I used my social media outlets to source a beautiful Triumph Bonneville and it’s owner was stoked to be a part of the project. Leading up to the shoot I really pushed myself to be creative with this photo set and to think outside the box. I decided to design and build a camera rig for my BMW’s rear bumper hitch. For the action shots we mounted my Phase One IQ180 digital medium format camera to the bumper rig and ran a tether cable inside to the backseat. This allowed me to have complete control over the camera from the safety of the car and have the images importing in real time to the laptop. There was a bit of initial trial and error to find the perfect shutter speed for the motion blur that I was envisioning, but once we were dialed in I was really happy with the feel of the images.
